Clear and Brilliant is a gentle laser that refreshes the skin from the inside out, taking skincare to a whole new level. What to expect:

Your treatment begins with application of topical numbing cream to your face for approximately 30 minutes prior to treatment in order to provide additional comfort.
Your provider will gently guide the Clear + Brilliant handpiece across the target area and actively treat your skin for approximately 15-20 minutes.
Clear + Brilliant utilizes the patented Intelligent Optical Tracking™ System to ensure your provider maintains proper contact with your skin and provides a uniform application to all treated areas.
The Clear + Brilliant Perméa® handpiece allows safe treatment of darker skin tones.
Skin will be red and possibly have swelling for the first 24 hours post treatment. I Rescue Post Treatment crème or Alastin Skin Nectar may be applied to speed healing and optimize results. The skin may have a “sandpaper” like feel for a few days as well but make up may be applied if desired.

Requires about 60 minutes for a complete session.

Is Microneedling the Next Big Thing?!

Microneedling, also known as skin needling and collagen induction therapy, is mostly treated on the face, neck, and decolletage.

The SKINPEN creates micro-injuries to activate the body’s natural healing process, rejuvenating collagen and elastin. It has a short treatment time, mild post-procedure effects, little to no downtime, and results in gorgeous looking skin!

Proven results consist of enrichment in skin texture and tightening, reduction in scars, and overall decrease in pore size.

Does the treatment hurt?

A topical anesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes prior to performing the procedure. The treatment can be done on areas of skin that may not be fit for laser resurfacing, including around the eyes and mouth. The SKINPEN can be easily modified by using less depth on areas of the skin where little damage is noted and going deeper on areas of the skin that require more depth for proper treatment. Proven results show little to no downtime post-treatment.

How often should I have it done?

Multiple sessions may be necessary depending on your skin’s present condition. Three or four treatments may be recommended for mild to moderate acne scarring and facial lines; deeper scars and pores may entail up to five treatments. The time between each treatment is 4 to 6 weeks. Maintenance treatments are recommended to help keep your skin at its best. Bonus, skin products such as hydrating serums and antiaging repair creams are best absorbed in well prepped skin!

How many treatment sessions are required?
This can vary depending on skin and severity of the condition, but generally, 6 sessions are required to achieve a good result. After that, the patient may need maintenance every few months depending on their skin type.

Do I need to use topical anesthesia? What about gels?
No. Anesthetics and cooling gels are not needed with LightPod lasers, because 650-microsecond technology makes it uniquely pain-free. However, some buildup of heat will be experienced and slight pinching may be felt while using the 2mm spot size. This unique benefit saves time, cost and mess by eliminating gels and sprays required by other lasers that cool the skin during treatment.

Is it painful?
No, there is just a mild, very tolerable sensation of heat. This is one of the key technical breakthroughs of Aerolase technology! LightPod lasers have set a new standard for virtually pain-free treatment, even on darker skin types, thanks to 650-microsecond technology.

When can I expect to see an improvement in my condition?
Improvement may be seen anywhere immediately after the treatment to a few weeks after the first treatment. Typically a session every month for 6 months is required. Patients should notice considerable results during the entire course of treatments and for another 6 months after the treatment due to the constant growth of new collagen and elastin. It is important to realize that there is no way to stop the skin’s aging process, so further treatment may be required in the future.

Is it permanent, or will my spots and laxity come back?
While your skin will appear firmer, more full and both red and brown spots will diminish, the skin will continue to age so maintenance treatments may be required in the future. To reduce the signs of aging it is important to wear sunscreen, which will slow any increase of wrinkles and sun damage.

Can it be used on dark skin?
Actually, LightPod lasers are the safest laser in the industry for darker skin types or tanned skin. This is because of 650-microsecond technology, which essentially eliminates treatment pain while minimizing the chances of hyper and/ or hypo-pigmentation. Patients with skin types IV-VI should not be treated with on the face with high power using the 2mm lens as the risk of hyper and/or hypopigmentation is increased.

How is Fraxel treatment different from other laser skin rejuvenation procedures?

How often can I get CoolPeel treatments?
These are ablative procedures, just not in the old way using CO2 lasers where significant recovery was necessary. CoolPeel delivers the same kind of results with really no downtime. Still, these aren’t meant to be done every month, as you would with a treatment such as a superficial peel.
We have found that one to three treatments deliver the kind of results patients seek. We’ll discuss the spacing of your sessions at your consultation.
From there, for continued renewal, yearly maintenance CoolPeel treatments would be a good plan.
What are the side effects of CoolPeel laser treatments?
The secret to CoolPeel is that the Tetra laser delivers high energy, but it does so in extremely short pulses. This eliminates the problems with lingering heat and damage to the surrounding skin. Because of that, CoolPeel delivers ablative type results with total comfort and without the downtime.
The only real risk of side effects is the potential for hyper- or hypopigmentation for patients with olive or brown skin. This is true of any laser treatment.
Also, as with other laser treatments, if you have the human papillomavirus there is a risk the laser energy can trigger an outbreak of cold sores. Your physician can provide a prescription for antiviral medication in advance in these cases.
Are CoolPeel laser treatments considered safe?
Yes, these treatments are completely safe. They have been cleared by the FDA. Since CoolPeel is the newest fractional ablative treatment, at LunaSol we’ve been impressed at how well patients tolerate them. As mentioned above, patients have some redness, similar to moderate sunburn, for a day or two. And the skin can feel a little dry and scaly as it heals, but those issues are easily addressed with skin lotion.
Is a Tetra CoolPeel laser treatment painful?
There isn’t any need for localized anesthesia with CoolPeel treatments. We apply topical numbing cream across the treatment areas to ensure your comfort.
How long after my CoolPeel treatment will I see my results?
You will start noticing improvements after one week. The collagen production has been stimulated, and your skin resurfacing has begun. You will see real improvements as your outermost layers of damaged, dull skin cells are shed and replaced with younger, healthy cells. Texture issues, sun damage, age spots and pigmentation, overall dull skin — these will all improve dramatically beginning after about a week. Your new, healthier skin will continue to reveal itself moving forward.
How long will my results from CoolPeel last?
