Pre/Post Treatment Information

MICROBLADING

WHAT TO

EXPECT

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool is made of several tiny needles that manually draw hair strokes. This gives a more natural look to making you eyebrows look more full.

Pre-Instructions:

  • Discontinue any blood thinners 24hrs prior to treatment-any type of NSAIDS (Advil, Aleve, Excederin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, and Aspirin) Do not take any fish oil or Vitamin E 24hrs prior to coming in for Microblading.

  • It is recommended to eat a meal prior to getting treatment.

  • Do not wax or tint brows 3 days prior.

  • Do not use Retin-A or AHA products 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  • No laser or chemical peels 2-3 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Stay out of the sun, if sunburnt reschedule your appointment.

  • Do not exercise day of procedure-you will want to do light workouts 48-72 hours post treatment also.

  • do not drink too much coffee on the day of procedure.

  • Alcohol should not be consumed the day of or in excess the night before.

  • Do not get Botox or any major facial treatments done prior to appointment (3-4 weeks prior). Microblading is a two step process so will need to come back one month after initial treatment for touch up.

  • No makeup to eyebrows prior to coming in for procedure.

Post-care Instructions:

  • Keep eyebrows dry for at least a week (from submerging brows into water, swimming, spas etc).

  • Keep the area clean by washing with water only, be sure you thoroughly wash your hands with mild soap first.

  • You will be given an ointment to apply twice a day-less is more. If you were to lose ointment that was given you can use: Neosporin, Aquaphor or Vaseline.

  • If it should scab or be crusty, do not pick or peel off. Allow it to naturally flake off.

  • Do not use makeup near the tattooed area for at least 5-7 days.

  • Sunblock of at least SPF30 should be used after the area has healed to protect from tattoo fading. Stay out of direct sunlight or tanning booths for 7-10 days.

  • Do not use cleansing creams, acne cleansers or astringents.

What is normal:

  • Swelling-mild swelling, itching, light scabbing, light bruising and dry tightness can be normal. Ice packs are a nice relief and aftercare balm.

  • Appearance-Too dark/light or slightly uneven can occur. 2-7 days after the procedure the darkness will fade.

  • Touchup-A touch up appointment is highly recommended within 30 days If pigment still fades, then a 6 month or 12 month follow up treatment should be done.
